Okay, so now what?

Washington

It was all going so swimmingly well.

Hopes were high.  Moods were bright.  Spouses looked fondly upon each other, knowing that all that planning and hard work was about to pay off.

My god, this thing is HUGE!  Kudos to Dan for sticking the landing.  It’s like docking the space station.

And then I got to say “Chocks Away Wing Commander!” and we had lift off.

Yeah, that’s me towing that beast.  Made it all the way back to the parking lot at the Port Townsend fairgrounds where we were to practice backing up and parking (Dan doing the precision work again, with the aid of the nifty Trailer Backup Assist System (aka The Marriage Saver) and me admiring from the sidelines.

Yeah, well…..  apologies for looking like I got run over by that 15,000lb beast but it’s been a VERY long day.

  1. YOU ARE BRAVE. My husband wants me to learn how to pull our tad-smaller than yours beast. Reluctantly agreeing it's a good idea... one day. We've been pulling fifth wheels for 20 years now - oh, there are stories to tell! ;-) We're hitting the road next week for one last glamp voyage before winter hits! Wishing you the happiest and safest adventure!

  3. Trailer Trash Mama getting (just slightly) trashed, lol, on first night -- first-day hopes dimmed but not out. Every explorer meets a few obstacles and at least you didn't spend your first night in a cheap motel with a paper bath mat ... Cheers to you two!
